For over forty years, from the time I was allowed to vote, I have been a registered Republican because their views most closely reflected mine. Today, I can no longer say that. You see, I am one of those “wacko birds” from which you no longer want to hear. I believe in the United States Constitution as put forth by the Founding Fathers. I believe in limited government, lower taxation, a balanced budget, paying off the national debt, the elimination of the thousands of destructive regulations, and the free market system. I believe that the Constitution gives the federal government limited powers and those not implicitly granted to the fed, remain with the states and, most importantly, the individual.

It is apparent to me that the GOP no longer believes the same things that I do. You claim to agree during election time, but your actions always fall well short of those claims, with very few exceptions. Then you turn around and vilify those few exceptions.  The recent elections are a case in point. While you threw money into the race for governor in New Jersey, where there was a left-leaning moderate who hasn’t done much in lowering the tax rate in the state and wants tighter gun control, while basically making a no-show in the governor’s race in Virginia, where there is a candidate that opposes government controlled healthcare, opposes abortion up to the time of birth, while favoring the US Constitution. Virginia proved that you favored electing a Democrat rather than turning the state over to a Conservative. Something is very wrong with that!

Several recent polls should grab you attention. One of them said that, while 42% of the respondents identified with Obama, another 42% identified with the Tea Party. That means you are trying to get the remaining 16%. Another poll stated that people of the United States had grown more conservative. You, on the other hand are trying to move more left of center. If that is your goal, perhaps you should save time and just change the “R” to a “D” to get it over with. Well, at least YOU haven’t denied G_D, like the rest of the Democrats!

I once thought that I represented your base, but, now I no longer do. You once craved the Independents (Cuccinelli beat McAuliffe in getting the Independent vote), but now, you are driven to the left-moderates. Since that is now the case, I will not be sending money to fund your efforts. I will not help you fund liberal Republicans like Lindsey Graham. I doubt you’ll be helping Nancy Mace or Lee Bright in the South Carolina race. As for my own state of North Carolina, where Kay Hagan will be defeated, I’ll be spending money and effort to elect the conservative candidate over your establishment candidate!

I know this letter will be ignored by you, just as my principles have been held in disdain by you. However, as long as you following the advice of the left-moderates (Karl Rove comes to mind), just slightly right of Democrat socialists, We have to part ways. I, and the people like me, the Tea Party Patriots, have to save the country from what you have done to it!

It was revealed yesterday that, as you sign up for insurance through Healthcare.gov, you actually surrender all privacy rights to personal information. This morning, during testimony in the House Committee of Energy and Commerce, the representative from CGI, Ms. Campbell, swore under oath that the website was HIPPA compliant, then said that there was a hidden source code that read, “You have no reasonable expectation of privacy regarding any communication of any data transmitted or stored on this information system.”

This is a scary revelation. This put every piece of information given over the website in jeopardy. Hackers are already salivating at the mother lode of information soon to be at their fingertips. This would be a huge violation of patient privacy except the (un)Affordable Care Act never cared about privacy, any more than those behind it.

Upon passage of the (un)Affordable Care Act in 2010, HIPPA died a quiet death, relegated to the doctors and nurses involved in a patients care. Patient privacy went no further. The new law established the Electronic Medical Records, a clearing house containing all health matters for every patient. It was proposed as a method to provide better medical care for a person, no matter where they were. A person on vacation hundred of miles away from home, who suffers a heart attack and goes to the nearest hospital, gets quicker care because the doctors have the same information as the patient’s home doctor. It’s basically a good idea.

However, upon passage of the bill, there was a rush of many federal agencies to get access to the information. To make it even more valuable to those agencies, doctors, or their nurses or other staff are under orders to ask questions concerning behaviours of patients. Do you feel safe at home? Do you have weapons in the house? The answers to these questions, along with the list of medications taken, could, in some places, warrant confiscation of any guns in the house. A diagnosis of PTSD, becoming ever more prevalent, could do the same thing. The fact is, any information given to medical personnel that goes into the EMR, goes to any number of federal agencies, from the IRS, the monitors of the law (scary enough), to the FBI, NSA, CIA and many other acronyms.

The revelation of the hidden source code telling visitors to the website that they have lost their privacy, along with their information, is nothing more than a smoke screen. In reality, they lost it, to the government, the day the bill became law in 2010!

 

 

     Harry Reid is at it again. Today, after rejecting yet another continuing resolution offer, He stood in front of the Senate and said that they (the Republicans) don’t have the right to pick and choose. Well, this is a bit odd coming from him and, presumably, his boss. They’ve been doing that for the last five years.

     Didn’t the picking and choosing begin with Solyndra and the other alternative energy sources over fossil fuels? It might have begun with the stimulus funds going to union companies around the country instead of opening it up to for any business. It’s hard to tell which was first since they came from the same money trough. Either way, it was a huge waste of our money.

     Don’t forget about all the waivers given out (the first time) to the unions and donors for the Democratic party. Wasn’t that some picking and choosing? It must have been, because neither I nor anyone I know receive a waiver.

     Of course, there’s the IRS investigations against the Tea Party groups, church groups, family oriented groups trying to get tax-exempt status. They chose to delay around 250 conservative groups while checking only six liberal groups.

     I could go on with regards to the Democrat Party’s rant against Republicans picking and choosing. Harry Reid, through the Senate picks and chooses which bills passed by the House ever see the light of day. They have picked and chosen they and their staff get an exemption from paying for 75% of Obummercare, while the people they work for, the American people, get hung out to dry. They’ve determined that they want to grant amnesty to 30-40 million illegals (yes, I said it) so that the illegals can get the jobs instead of American citizens because, then, the companies don’t have to provide insurance.

     So, I ask, who exactly is responsible for most of the picking and choosing? It seems to me that rests with Harry Reid, the Senate Democrats, and Barack Hussein. It’s been them doing the choosing, and now they choose to do without any negotiation at all. They’ve picked to demand it all!

For the last couple of weeks, Conservative and Tea Party members have been on the receiving end of a torrent of verbal abuse. Democratic members of Congress (along with more than a few Republicans), Barack Obama and the usual lap-dog and cheerleaders of the Lame Stream Media have branded us everything from terrorists and anarchists to the new Confederates. The majority of this is a result of the debate over the Unaffordable Care Act, although the debt ceiling and the continuing resolution to fund the government are also involved.

Harry Reid has referred to us as anarchists on several occasions. According to Dictionary.com, anarchist is defined thus:

1.

a person who advocates or believes in anarchy or anarchism.
2.

a person who seeks to overturn by violence all constituted forms and institutions of society and government, with no purpose of establishing any other system of order in the place of that destroyed.
3.

a person who promotes disorder or excites revolt against any established rule, law, or custom.
Now, to the best of my knowledge, and to the chagrin of the aforementioned Media, there have been no incidences of violence, disorder or revolt to date. This makes Harry Reid’s comments as truthful as his lies about Romney’s taxes. In fact, if anyone is an anarchist, it would be Reid and his cronies in the Senate, since they believe rules passed by them are for the masses (that’s us) but they hold themselves better than those laws.
     The current resident of the White House has indicated that we are racists and everything we do is directed against him. Personally, I have nothing against Obama, it’s his political viewpoint I object to. His socialist policies are destroying the middle class, the economy and will ultimately send the United States of America into hyper-inflation that will make the great Depression look like a financial hiccup. His comment about the debt ceiling increase not meaning an increase in the debt is ridiculous and shows why his disapproval rating is higher than his approval rating. I would ask him to show me one instance when an increase in the ceiling didn’t result in more spending, hence a higher debt. If it didn’t increase debt, why the need to raise the ceiling? Of course, that comes when the Senate sees absolutely no need to have a budget. The Democrats and the establishment Republicans just want to continue the party  by spending without end!
     Regarding Obamacare, it has been repeated numerous times that it is law (in fact an amendment to the Constitution) and we should get over it. May I remind you that Prohibition was also law, but was repealed, so evidently, many people didn’t get over it. There are many other times when bad laws were later changed. However, the important part to remember is Obamacare has never had support by a majority. When it was passed on Christmas Eve 2009, 52% of Americans opposed the law. That number has only grown as one hitch after another has plagued it. The unions, who campaigned for Obamacare, have now realized that it will cost them dearly. Even Congress doesn’t want it. You can bet Barack and Michelle won’t be using it!
     So, here we are, just days after Ted Cruz actually listened to their constituents and stood up for his principles. He has been vilified and everyone who worked to help him or agreed with the effort is called terrorists and anarchists by the very people elected to represent us  in this Constitutional Republic. Edmond Burke said,” Bad laws are the worst sort of tyranny.” Thomas Jefferson said,” Resistance to tyrants is obedience to God.” Since these are just two of our Founding Fathers, I’d choose to follow them over the tyrants in DC today.

Currently, the United States Navy has five destroyers off the coast of Syria, each with more than four dozen cruise missiles,provided they received a full load-out, waiting on orders to fire. The British were sending ships and aircraft, but Parliament demanded a vote on the attack and voted against it. Germany doesn’t want to do anything in the form of an attack. The French are all for attacking, yet I haven’t noticed any of their assets moving into the area. The assets I do see entering the arena are ships of the Russian Navy, including the guided missile cruiser Moskva.

How did we get here? Well, two years ago, an uprising developed against the Syrian regime of Bashir Al-Assad. The regime struck back, killing those involved. New protestors arose and were quickly dealt with. Here in the United States, the President sat and watched. Evidently, he’s really good at sitting and watching. We were busy leading from behind in Libya, sending weapons into the civil war there. About the time that Moammar Ghaddafi was killed by his fellow Libyans, the conflict in Syria had devolved into a civil war between four factions. In August, 2012, the President is talking (something else he’s really good at) about Syria and says his “red line” in the conflict would be if they started moving chemical weapons around or using them. He was saying that if either of those events occurred, he would have to step in to stop them.

Last June, the French let it be known that the Syrians had used chemical weapons on their own people. Our President, having been reminded of his “red line” speech, launched an investigation into who if anyone was responsible. It’s amazing how, once this administration launches an investigation, how quickly it goes absolutely nowhere! So, two months later (a couple of weeks ago), there is another chemical weapons attack, this time on video.  Again, the President is reminded of what he said. Again, he wants to make sure who was responsible. The French have said it was Assad. The Arab League says it was Assad. So, using the sit and wait protocol he likes best, he waits for the UN.

So, here we are. The UN has been to Syria to test for chemical weapons and we are waiting for the results. The President has attempted to build a coalition and no one wants to play, except the French giving us moral support. Congress wants to be informed and possibly vote on any action. Our Secretary of State, today,  spoke to the American people, saying that information was irrefutable that it was the Assad regime. This information supposedly comes from the intelligence community and the Arab League. Now, let me remind you that this is the same intelligence community that the administration has spent many years humiliating for their “weapons of mass  destruction” gaffe prior to our going into Iraq and the same intelligence community that seems more intent ,on spying on American citizens at home rather than on terrorists abroad. As for the Arab League, they are heavily involved with  our President’s buddies, the Muslim Brotherhood. You’ll forgive me if I don’t necessarily believe them.  Al Qaeda does have chemical weapons and a presence in Syria. The Muslim Brotherhood was, until recently, in control of Egypt. Does Egypt have chemical weapons? If they do, are they all accounted for? It is obvious that the Brotherhood has no qualms about killing hundreds of people. Then, it could have been the Assad regime. The fact is, do we know the truth?

Basically, we are in this position with ships preparing to launch missile, that ultimately won’t do anything to stop hostilities, because of the ego of one person. The President was ignored several times by Bashir Al-Assad. Assad has ignored him for the last two years and the his feelings are hurt. The President has said that the attack would decisive, but limited. This means he will launch multi-million dollar missiles to targets of little consequence, with absolutely no goal of regime change. If we do launch missiles, maybe we can call it “Operation O’s Nose Out Of Joint”.

This Thursday we will be celebrating Independence Day. Many will refer to it as the 4th of July, but that’s just a date on the calendar. It is a federal holiday, so many people will have the day off from work. There will be barbeques, fireworks (although fewer due to budget problems on the state and local levels and sequestration cuts on the federal level), sales at stores and just people getting together to party. Most only have a glimmer of an idea of exactly what they are celebrating.

On 4 July, 1776, 237 years ago, the Declaration of Independence, drafted by Thomas Jefferson, was brought before and approved by the Second Continental Congress, meeting in Independence Hall in Philadelphia. The document laid out the case for why it was necessary to separate from Britain and become a sovereign nation. It articulates the fundamental ideas behind the American nation; that they held “these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”. The preamble of the document goes on to describe the endeavors to abide by British rule although, ultimately, the history of the ruler, King George III “is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations” providing for absolute Tyranny. The Declaration goes on to demonstrate 27 grievances against the British king, from colonists being forced to house British troops in their homes to raising taxation without representation to exciting domestic insurrections amongst colonists. In conclusion, the Declaration of Independence declared King George III a tyrant, unfit to rule free men, therefore the Congress needed to declare the American colonies free and independent States.

Although the Continental Congress had actually voted to declare independence two days previously, on the 2nd of July, and the document was accepted by the Second Continental Congress on the 4th, final approval came from the New York Convention on the 9th of July. The Declaration of Independence was finally signed 2 August, 1776 by 56 delegates, Dr. Benjamin Franklin first among them.Two others chose not to sign the document, one holding out hope for reconciliation with Britain and another thinking the time was too early.

The men who signed the founding document of the American political tradition know they were signing a confession of treason against the British government, at that time, their own government. Despite this, they “mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.” The signers believed in the divine Providence for their protection. Although fearful for their lives, they were all aware of the importance of what they were doing. Five of them were captured by the British and tortured before they died.

The Declaration and the revolution that followed gave the new American nation the ability to create the United States Constitution. It created a government of the People, by the People and for the People. After America had won its independence and the Founding Fathers set about creating the form of government to be used, someone asked Benjamin Franklin what form of government they had chosen. Franklin replied,” A Republic, if you can keep it.” I fear we are not doing enough to keep the Republic. While looking at the grievances against King George III, I thought there were at least seven of them committed by the current inhabitant of the White House.

This Thursday, Independence Day, I ask that you set aside a few minutes to read the Declaration of Independence. Read it to your children, because they probably don’t learn much about it in the schools. Give thought for what it means, both in history and in your life today. It remains one of the greatest documents in history.

 

     Edward Snowden has shown a lot. He has shown American citizens they have a government that is spying on them and all the information they get, they can keep and go back to use against us later. He has shown us we no longer have any privacy. He, and others, have demonstrated that there is very little, if any, honesty in this administration. Most importantly, however, he has shown our world standing.

     Shortly after the revelations of the invasion of privacy committed by the NSA against the American people, Snowden fled the country, ending up in Hong Kong. After his whereabouts were known, the Department on Justice filed a sealed indictment of espionage against Snowden and asked the government of Hong Kong to send him back to the United States. There was probably quite a bit of back and forth between China and Hong Kong, but the diplomatic sit and wait paid off. By the time the dust settled, Snowden was on his way to Moscow. There he remains, evidently in the transit lounge of Sheremetyevo International Airport, with Vladamir Putin’s approval.

     In the old days of the cold war, the United States was a Superpower. We were there to head off attempts by others to brutalize other nation, or to protect the citizens of a brutal regime. We led NATO and, to some extent, the United Nations. Other countries may not have liked us, but they definitely respected us. That is not the case anymore. John Kerry, fresh from becoming Secretary of State, was forced to cool his heels in Moscow, having to wait three hours for a meeting with his Russian counterpart. I doubt that would have happened under a President like Reagan. We have world leaders saying insulting things about the current resident of the White House. An Irish member of Parliament, Clare Daly, called him the “Hypocrit of the Century”  and Putin calls him weak.

     It is a time of great tension in the world. China is in the midst of a teritorial dispute with Japan. North Korea is firing missiles over Japan. Syria is in a bloodbath of a civil war. Egypt is bubbling up into a riot. The Russian navy is back in the Mediterranean Sea for the first time in years. Iran is on the verge of becoming a nuclear power. Our military is spread thin and being starved of necessities by its own Commander in Chief.

     The diplomatic pots are all boiling over on the stove that is the world and we have no one in the kitchen. We  have made demands of others and they stand there thumbing their noses at us. But, cheer up; at least Fearless Leader is set to enjoy a vacation in Africa. On our dime!

Just two weeks ago, Barack Obama spoke before the graduating class at Ohio State University. He told them not to pay any attention to the voices that, for years, have told them that tyranny awaits just around the corner. He went on the tell them that his “experiment” will make all things great for them as they go out into the world. Well, congratulations, Graduates!

The graduates are about to step into the real world. They are about to witness that, instead of the 7.6% unemployment the administration proclaims, the actual numbers are closer to 14% or higher. They will find that their eastern philosophy degree won’t quite go far enough to paying off their $100,000 student loan. In fact, since they probably won’t get hired for a job, they will probably find themselves around $100,000 short and residing with their parents. Butt, fear not; at least Mom and Dad can still claim them on their insurance for a while longer.

But, as far as Obama’s tyranny statement, It reminds  me of the scene in “The Wizard of Oz” where Toto is messing with the curtain and pulls it aside. The “Wizard” tells everyone, “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.”  Or, maybe, it’s more like “Star Wars” when Obiwan uses the Jedi Mind trick to convince the storm troopers that these aren’t the droids they are looking for. However, after the revelations of last week with regards to the IRS abuse of power or the trampling of the Constitution in the abuse of power by the Department of Justice (with Eric Holder at the helm, one wonders if perhaps it shouldn’t be called the Dept. of Injustice).

According to Duhaime’s Legal Dictionary, the definition of tyranny is as follows: A form of government other than a monarchy in which the formal written constitution is not adhered to and is broken by force of arms by a single person who then undertakes to rule as a monarch and primarily in his personal interests. This administration certainly regards the US Constitution as old-fashioned and “in their way” of progress. Don’t forget that last Sunday, White House spokesman Dan Pfeiffer stated, before cameras, that “the law is irrelevant”. This doesn’t sound to me like a respect for existing law and especially not the US Constitution.  But, what about “by force of arms”? Can the intimidation of the Internal Revenue Service be included or do we have to wait until the newly purchased armored personnel carriers of the Department of Homeland Security takes to the street?

According to the Free Online Dictionary, tyranny is a government in which a single ruler is vested with absolute power. Here again, this administration is awful close, if not already there. They have done everything possible to wrest the power from Congress and the Supreme Court and those institutions time after time let them.

Samuel Adams once said, “”The liberties of our country, the freedoms of our civil Constitution are worth defending at all hazards; it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received
them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors. They purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood. It will bring a mark of everlasting infamy on the present generation – enlightened as it is – if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or to be cheated out of them by the artifices of designing men.”

After hearing that quote, how ironic do you find it that Obama is saying to ignore the voices that say tyranny is right around the corner? I can hear the kids in the back seat yelling, Are we there yet?”

     The United States of America is in a dire situation. Our country has a national debt of almost $16.6 Trillion. Each and every citizen owes a debt of $52,582, or $146,611 per taxpayer. Our country’s debt held by foreign nations is $5.59 Trillion. The progressives, who have an aversion to spending cuts, are crying to close tax “loopholes” (meaning legal deductions) and to make steeper tax increases to bring in more tax income. The minions of the administration are looking everywhere for money they can steal.

     One of those minions, Richard Cordray, is the Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. I might add that this is one of those recess appointments the Supreme Court ruled unconstitutional and why he still is in that position, I don’t understand, but I digress. Cordray has come up with an idea for a service that, supposedly will help the government and the consumer, us. he has come to the realization that the retirement accounts of the consumer are being jeopardized by evil brokers’ manipulations. His solution is for the government, by way of his bureau, to “manage” those accounts, therefore safeguarding the consumer. After all, the consumer can’t be trusted to manage their own accounts.

     I have a retirement account, as do millions of other people. I operate on a budget, pay my bills and live within my means. This financial plan has allowed for funding my retirement account. Now, this administration wants to “protect” my investment by taking my account out of the hands of qualified advisors of my choosing so they can manage it themselves. Forgive me if this doesn’t make me feel any safer. This seems to me to be a lot like searching out the closest crack-head and asking him to take care of my money. No matter how much money I had, I’m sure it would be gone within a day.

     I would be very hard-pressed to name a program successfully managed by the government.  Social Security was set up as a retirement fund that the government managed. I knew that Social Security wouldn’t allow me the freedom I wanted, that’s why I started my own account. The government has been siphoning funds out of Social Security for years to pay for other mismanaged projects. This administration can’t even manage a budget over the last four years, much less come in without a trillion-dollar plus deficit annually over that same period of time.

     Cordray’s scheme is actually nothing more than a money grab to further fund their obscene spending. They have realized that the American consumer has $5.5 trillion in retirement accounts and they want to steal that money to put in government coffers to continue their aid to those hooked on the government dole. How dare the American consumer think of himself before thinking of the government and its idea of the common good.

 

It wasn’t too long ago that I heard this administration’s spokesboy, Jay “the Misleader” Carney speaking to his media zombies about how the economy is improving. The Royal One campaigned on the notion that the economy was growing just fine, Government Motors was alive, union manufacturing was producing. All was good on the financial front.

After the election, the numbers started coming in. They showed that the unemployment rate started ticking back up. Reports of companies’ plans of cutting employees began appearing. Of course, the administration’s response was to decree that henceforth, full-time hours were 30 hours or more. Employers announced plans to bring workers’ hours down to 29 hours to avoid Obamacare regulations. Then there were the military contractors who were going to have to lay off thousands of people due to sequestration. Still, the national debt clock rolled forward.

The first part of January 2013 brought the further kicking of the crumpled can down the road and a delay of the military cuts until May. The Obama Taxes kicked in, meaning companies received a higher tax rate, those making $400,000 or more received a tax increase and anyone receiving a paycheck got less take-home pay. The smaller net pay for everyone was a shock to many as they remembered the Royal One saying no one in the middle class would pay one cent more.

Yesterday, the GDP report announced that Gross Domestic Product during the last quarter shrunk 0.1%. The Lame Stream Media immediately went to work spinning, saying the recovery is still going on and that the report didn’t indicate a looming recession. Today, the unemployment number came out showing higher jobless claims than expected.

Shocking was the most-used word in describing both reports. “Experts” had expected a dip from the 3.1% GDP the preceding quarter to between 1.5-2% the last quarter of the year surprised them. Also surprising was the unemployment numbers, about 50,000 higher than expected. So much for the experts. It came as no surprise to me.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid took to the podium this morning to proclaim the country was still in a recovery and the negative GDP report  was repudiation of the Republican austerity plans. This argument is getting very tired. What austerity is he referring to? There have been NO cuts to spending! This is a direct result of the Royal One’s administration, aided by the socialistic members of the Senate. Their plan to spend the country into oblivion is working! The Royal One constantly talks about the shrinking middle class. It’s shrinking into non-existence to form only two classes: those completely dependent on the government and those to be taxed! Meanwhile, as the economy tanks, the zombie media reports on the struggles with gun control and immigration.

If things continue according to the Royal One’s plans, more companies will fail, more people will lose their jobs and the national debt clock rolls on. The talking heads all say that what is happening in Greece cannot happen here. Yes, it can and we keep approaching that point. We have a spending problem, despite the comical antics of Senator Mary Landrieu (D-La) yesterday shouting that Congress doesn’t have a spending problem. We have a couple of months before the debt ceiling argument becomes critical again. Contact your Representative and Senators and express your demands for actual cuts in the spending and a balanced budget. Tell them no to increasing the debt ceiling. Our shrinking economy requires it!
