Earlier this morning, I was reading an article from American Thinker written by Sierra Rayne about the ongoing boycott against the chain store Target. For those not familiar with the boycott, since the Lame Stream Media won’t report on it, Target came out about a month ago with the policy that people could use the bathroom or fitting room of the gender they identified as. Some Christian groups as well as groups fearing for the safety of women and female children were concerned that this would quickly succumb to abuse from sex offenders, called for a boycott of the store. In the article, Rayne  shows how the boycott has been directly responsible for a loss by Target of approximately $9.2 billion over the last month. Of course, the aforementioned media attributes the loss on anything from climate change  to the upcoming vacation season (or other such moronic assertion). They can’t attribute it to so many people disagreeing with the LGBT agenda. After all, Walmart didn’t make any such announcement on bathroom policy and they met expectations while Target, over the same period showed a 5% loss.

The lesson that needs to be learned is the free market works. If a business does something that their customer base does not approve of, that base will move on, given other options. Customers of Target had other options and they left Target in droves because of this policy allowing men into bathrooms with little girls.. Now that the store has lost those people, can they bring them back to the store? Probably not without a change in policy, but that would make the estimated three percent of the population that belong to the LGBT community. Smart businesses will look at this and learn the lesson that business is market driven and it’s not wise to do something that drives that market away.

In reading this, it occurred to me that this is a lesson that should be learned in other endeavors.  The Republican Party came to mind. For years, every Republican candidate has declared his bonafides as a Conservative in order to win their primaries. As soon as they are running for the general election, they go back to their moderate or progressive talking points, making them little different than the Democrat candidate. The GOP establishment figures the Conservative has little choice but to vote for him, the Republican, so they start going for the crossover vote.

This year might prove different. There were some Democrats that changed parties to Republican during primary season, but how many will actually vote Republican? Meanwhile, on the Republican side, people have left the Republican Party ( I will after June 7th) and the Libertarian ranks have increased. Too many voters have had enough of the GOP moving to the left so far, it’s now left of center! Will the GOP learn the lesson Target is facing and work to be more embracing of Conservative viewpoints or will they go the way of the Whigs?

The Republican Party has been ill for a while. It has certainly declined since the 1980’s, when Ronald Reagan ran the party. Talking heads claim the party is fractured; they say there are too many factions wanting control of the path upon which the party follows. Of course, it’s not the GOP who, four years ago, voted against including God in its platform three times, whose current candidate choices are between a Socialist and someone under serious FBI investigation. That’s the Democrat Party.

The Republicans are ruled by Progressives, whose only difference with the Democrats is the speed with which they drive the country to its demise. The Republican establishment likes big government, huge spending bills, and have little problem with doing away with rights guaranteed by the Bill of Rights. (For those in American college campus “Safe Zones”, those are the first ten Amendments to the US Constitution; might want to put away Marx’s Communist Manifesto and read it!)

If the Democrat Party were a car, it would be driving flat-out, full speed to the cliff and over. The Republican car, driven by the establishment, would only be in third gear all the way over the cliff, but, ultimately, would join the first car as a smoking ruin at the bottom of the cliff. There’s a third car that has come to a screeching halt and is doing a U-turn to get back to the road to prosperity.

Conservatives, driving that third car, are angry. they have been told for years to sit down and be quiet and, looking at where the establishment has taken them, are tired of it! They have expressed their disdain for the establishment and want something different. From the wings, in walks Donald Trump, claiming to be a Conservative and an outsider.

Now, I have been a Conservative for years. I believe in limited government, lower taxes, a free market, family values, religious freedom and the US Constitution. I welcome anyone who wants the same thing. I really don’t see a Progressive having an epiphany and converting to Conservatism overnight.

Donald Trump has no Conservative credentials. He doesn’t have a problem with big government; he uses the government. He’s contributed to much of those in government. He gets what he wants from government, at the expense of other Americans. His use of eminent domain precludes a respect for personal property. He wanted a ban on semi-automatic weapons and more regulations before becoming a Second Amendment advocate. Just a couple of weeks ago, he wanted to make libel laws more lenient, so he could more easily sue someone for writing things he didn’t like, thus touching the First Amendment.

Socially, He’s not much better. He sides with Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama on partial-birth abortion. On a debate about a month ago, he said Planned Parenthood does some really good  things. Other than abortions and harvesting baby parts, any other “women’s services” are subbed out. He started his campaign by wanting to build a wall, while having used plenty of illegal workers in his businesses. His businesses also manufactures a lot of things in other countries, which he wants to tariff other companies for the same thing.

Donald Trump says he’s bringing Democrats with him, but, so far, I can’t explain why .Some of it is Democrats voting for Trump to help a wounded Hillary I don’t see all those Democrats voting for him in November. In spite of what Donald Trump says, in 19 of the last 21 polls, Hillary beats Donald in a head to head contest. Another four years under a Democrat will be the end of the GOP.

If the establishment gets a hair to create a brokered convention (as Romney’s actions make it seem likely) and insert one of their chosen as the nominee, the GOP will dissolve from within.

The Republican Party began in 1854 in an effort to end slavery. With a hard right hand turn, it can continue to do good works for the American people, but it needs an actual Conservative at the helm. That’s just one reason I’ve already cast my vote for Ted Cruz. If the Republican Party wants to go the way of the Whigs, it won’t be MY fault!

We were “endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”. The Declaration of Independence goes on to tell us it’s the government’s responsibility to secure those rights. This was deemed so necessary, the ratification of the Constitution was delayed until the Bill of Rights, the first ten Amendments, were included.

Fast forward a few centuries and we find the government of the United States isn’t fulfilling its responsibility very well. In fact, they’re working against their task of securing our rights. They say it’s for the greater good.

For instance, after Muslim terrorists flew airliners into the World Trade center and the Pentagon, with another airliner attack being thwarted and crashing into a field, Congress passed the Patriot Act and the National Defense Authorization Act, NDAA, which allowed the government to monitor our activities, thus nibbling at our rights. They say it to better protect us from further terrorist attacks. in other words, for a little security, we allow the government to monitor communication ( they say it’s just metadata) without a warrant, in violation of our Fourth Amendment rights.

Or, more recently, this Administration came up with  Executive Actions designed to restrict gun ownership. They admit the actions would have done nothing to stop any of the gun violence  incidents, but there is a need for “common sense gun control”. We allow them to dictate what common sense means. Thus they infringe on our Second Amendment rights, with the comment about “if we can save just one life”.

This Administration has violated just about every one of the Bill of Rights. They nibble away at the edges. When they see they can get away with that, they nibble away a bit more. Eventually, those rights are gone.

If you only have the rights you are willing to fight for, it’s about time to start fighting. Otherwise, the erosion of our rights will be complete and our liberty will be gone!

Last night, during his speech from the Oval Office, Barack Obama commented on how someone on the No-Fly list couldn’t board an airliner, but could purchase a weapon. He thinks we should close that loophole. Of course, the facts eludes him, as they usually do. The two (where’d the third go) shooters in San Bernardino, Ca. were not on the No-Fly list. They weren’t on any government list. However, it was revealed yesterday that 72 members of the Department of Homeland Security were on the No-Fly list. I’m sure that they could board airliners by a simple use of their badge.

The idea to close the loophole of someone on the No-Fly list being able to purchase weapons might sound like common sense until you actually think about it. Who puts those names on the list and what vetting is used to ensure that the name should be on the list. Turns out that various agencies submit names to a committee, then that committee rubber stamps it most of the time. There have been cases where the name is misspelled causing havoc to an innocent person instead of the intended listee. If someone has the same name as another whose name is on the list, that person isn’t going anywhere. If John Smith is on the list, all John Smiths are on the list.

Using the watchlist for gun control poses its own problems. This administration corrupts things to make things better fit their agenda. They corrupted plans for Fast and Furious (again, not the movie) to aid in their gun confiscation. They corrupted Obamacare, causing it not to work, so they could “fix” it with the single-payer option, their goal all along. So, who’s to say they won’t put names of known gun owners on the watchlist. If you remember back to 2009, Janet Napolitano, then head of Homeland Security, said that the next domestic terrorists would be veterans and Tea Party members. I’m sure the VA and the IRS, who have been watching the Tea Party members closely, can provide those names to add to that watchlist. Could Loretta Lynch, Attorney General, add the names of anyone besmerching the name of Islam? Just for good measure, maybe they can add everyone from Fox News, although there have been a couple already.

Once the people named above are on that list, they won’t be able to pass a background check for a firearm. Now that the government has throttled back on new gun purchases, some Democrat Senator will suggest that,  since people on the list couldn’t buy a firearm under existing law, they shouldn’t be able to keep any they already have. Then the fireworks start.

This administration came into office with gun control of the European model in mind, meaning banning and confiscation. They deny it, but it’s there rising to the surface. Obama and his minions will do anything to achieve that goal. Seems to me the phrase “by hook or by crook” was mentioned in at least on of his speeches. Can someone tell me the scenario above wouldn’t come true, at the hands of this administration? I don’t think so.

I was made aware that, due to the Islamic Extremist attack on Paris, France last Friday, the sophomoric spoiled collegians are whining that they aren’t in the spotlight anymore. I thought I’d take a brief moment to shed a tiny beam of dim light. It’s probably more light than they deserve.

When last the light shone on them, on the Mizzou campus, we had the self-proclaimed hunger striker crying about oppression. He was upset that he lost his student insurance (after eight years on campus). Turns out, it wasn’t because of the man or white privilege; It’s due to regulations set up through the Affordable Care Act, Obamacare, so the person at fault was Barack Obama. Of course, his daddy works for the railroad and pulled down over $8 million last year. I think they can afford insurance, even under the astronomical premiums of Obamacare, though it might hurt his feelings.

On several college campuses, there are students who want equality, while they segregate themselves from those who are different. There are students who want to do away with the First Amendment, while they use the same Amendment to voice their so-called grievances and assemble in the fashion of Occupy Wall Street. There are students who have learned that if you claim an event happened often enough, it becomes fact, regardless of whether or not there exists any evidence to the contrary. There are students who believe if you don’t have grades good enough to pass, you have been marginalized and should be educated free.

Are those malcontent students to blame? There are parents who protect though children to the extent they aren’t allowed to get dirty or do anything remotely dangerous. They enter their children in sports, where rules dictate there are no winners (or losers). The students go to school and are provided a cookie-cutter education (the scene from Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” comes to mind), while protecting their precious feelings. The teachers shield them from any discriminations, real or perceived, now even gender “conflict”.

Then, off to college they go, where they meet their new mentors, the hypocritical, progressive ideological, close-minded faculty member, their professors. The professor lauds Socialism to the student. Hey, there’s a reason to spy services of Russia and the Soviet Union recruited so successfully on American college campuses. The professor teaches the evils of Free Market, while making their money through that process. After all, enough students value the outrageously expensive price demanded by the professor in order to keep his position viable, right? The student gets the promise of higher incomes, while being offered such great career courses as Underwater Basket Weaving 301. Is it any wonder that the modern crop of students are so spoiled and malcontented? Actually, the turning of the students against their mentors is deserved. The faculty prepped the students on discord, they just expected them to use it after they left campus. You reap what you sow.

Soon enough, however, the crybabies will have to grow up and take responsibility. Many of their problems come back to their own decisions. It’s no one’s fault but their own that they have no marketable degree, but they have $200,000 college debt.  The student needs to learn fast, because sooner or later, they’ll have to leave Academia. Out in the real world, not as many people care about their hurt feelings.

Lord Acton is credited with the quote, “Power corrupts; Absolute power corrupts absolutely.” It was in  an 1887 letter to Bishop Creighton discussing how the same moral standards should apply to all men (and women), including political and religious leaders. The famous quote was part of a longer quote, but this ending was the remembered part. Let’s face it; it’s so applicable in life.

Today, in Washington, it’s a way of life. Many of our elected officials, those people we choose to handle our affairs of state, are at the pay-out windows of lobbyists working to get the bidding of their masters done. The politician says one thing, then figures a way to do the opposite, preferably without their role being found out.

For example, last week Hillary Clinton appeared before the House Committee investigating Benghazi. Despite email evidence showing she told her family that night three years ago Americans were killed by an al-Qaeda like group and the next morning, she told the Egyptian Prime Minister it wasn’t because of the video, later in the testimony, she said it was caused by the video. That was but one of many lies she gave the committee that day, yet she didn’t leave in handcuffs for perjury. She left in triumph, knowing she was protected. The media mentioned the 11 hour “marathon” appearance. It was actually about five hours, because the Democrats on the committee did nothing but cover for her. Hillary said she took responsibility for what happened, but, like the progressive she is, proceeded to blame everyone under her.

Another example, the Department of (In)Justice announced that Lois Lerner, of the IRS scandal against the Tea Party and other Conservative groups, would not be charged with any crimes. So many lies were revealed in these hearings, but this DoJ isn’t interested in the truth. Let’s face it, the former Attorney General, Eric Holder, spent a good portion of his term under contempt of Congress.  They made the announcement Lerner was going free just days before they announced the creation of a new “domestic terrorist” office. I’m pretty sure they won’t be looking for the ISIS members coming into the country in the guise of being a refugee. Go back to 2009, when the then-Homeland Security Secretary said the new terrorists were the veterans who were coming home, the Tea Party and those clinging to their guns and Bibles. Oh, wait; that last one was actually Barack Obama.

I mentioned that only the end of Lord Acton’s quote was remembered, but the full quote is as follows:  “And remember, where you have a concentration of power in a few hands, all too frequently men with the mentality of gangsters get control. History has proven that. All power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely.” Perhaps Lord Acton could see the future.

The Lame Stream Media is failing miserably at its job, but does so with a purpose. It’s biased reporting of events leaves much of the population ill-advised and uninformed or apathetic. It accepts press releases from some sources as fact, while ignoring or misrepresenting opposing views. While claiming objectivity, they interject their progressive viewpoint into any story. They wonder why their ratings are declining, along with the public’s opinion of their profession.

For example, last weekend Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam hosted a Million Man March on the Mall in Washington DC. It was the twentieth anniversary of the march with the central idea of atonement; be a better father and citizen in the community. Twenty years ago, that got a lot of attention. How much did you hear about the gathering last weekend. The attendees were Islamists, Socialists, Atheists and anarchists. Cries of “Down, down USA” were everywhere. The call for actual revolution was repeated several times. Was this anywhere on the alphabet station news programs?  The original march was widely reported and the crowd size was inflated to a million people, while estimates ranged from 250,000 to 300,000. The one a couple of days ago was gauged at around one million, according to Secret Service estimates, while any old press merely said thousands. Evidently, the Lame Stream Media and its Progressive masters aren’t ready for a million people calling for open revolt. Yet.

Another example is the tumult revolving around the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Several months ago, one of the few actual Conservative Congressmen from North Carolina, Rep. Mark Meadows brought forward a bill to vacate the Speakership in the House.  John Boehner and Jason Chaffetz retaliated by removing him from an important committee. the uproar from Conservatives across the country was such that Chaffetz had to backtrack and put Meadows back on the committee.Upon questioning, Boehner said that he was “Tea Party before there was a Tea Party”. Evidently, he was drinking something other than tea, for there is no evidence he has ever pushed for a Conservative bill. The call for his removal continued to grow outside of Congress. Boehner kept the bill at bay until the August recess. All this time, the media said this was a revolt by a few crazies that would go nowhere. During the recess, the GOP establishment made calls to get votes to keep Boehner as Speaker, but failed. The evidence? Speaker Boehner resigned. If he had enough votes in his favor, he would have called for the vote. Kevin McCarthy stepped up for the job and was quickly shut down by Conservatives at home. Boehner called Paul Ryan twice to beg him to run, but, twice, he’s rejected the move. Through this, the media is telling their customers the Conservatives are trying to destroy the party. Truth is, the GOP establishment has been destroying the party for at least the last thirty years, as they moved further and further to the Progressive left.

The GOP elite and the Democrats have damaged the country with their tax and spend policies, their green agenda that no one believes, their unlegislated regulations, their social remodeling and religion crushing. Together they are driving the country over a cliff. The only difference is the GOP elite are driving slightly slower. Either way, the crash at the end of the drop will still destroy the country. Conservatives want to stop that drive to the cliff. Conservative stand for less spending, less taxes, much smaller government, a return to the Constitution and state’s rights. Meanwhile, we are called extremists, wacko-birds, domestic terrorists, crazies among other names. For Conservatives, as long as our foundation is rooted in our religion, our family values and the Founding Documents, everyone else are the radicals. But that doesn’t fit into the Progressives or the Lame Stream Media’s agenda!

In 1095, after 450 years of Muslims taking land by the sword, Pope Urban II called for what became the First Crusade with the primary goal of restoring Jerusalem to Christian rule. Several kings used the Crusade for a secondary goal of halting the advance of Islamic encroachment into their territories and pushing them back across the sea. By the time the First Crusade started, the Muslims had conquered about two-thirds of the Christian world. After seven crusades and 196 years,  the fighting stopped with mixed results. The invading Muslims had mostly been pushed back, but gains remained. Jerusalem had been won and lost, several times.

Today, Muslims live throughout the world, with a few exceptions. However, with the turmoil going on in Syria, Afghanistan, Libya and Iraq there is a huge number of Muslims being displaced and heading to Europe. The media shows us pictures and video of the masses crammed aboard ragged ships as they sail across the Mediterranean Sea. We see them, after being offered water and food, demonstrate their thankfulness by throwing water bottles at the volunteers and the other supplies onto train tracks. The media doesn’t show the debris strewn aside by the horde in Paris or the ISIS banners displayed before German polizei. The media doesn’t show that the refugees are all Muslim and not Christian, who are experiencing a worse plight and harder passage. The media might say that Hungary is being restrictive over who comes there. What they won’t tell you is that Hungary has said they will only take Christians, who are being killed or placed into slavery. Of course, the media is far more concerned with the destruction of antiquities by ISIS than the murder of whole cities of Christians. That image wouldn’t be very favorable to Islam, though much more honest.

Last week, Germany said that they would allow 800,000 refugees into their country. With that offer, Saudi Arabia said they would pay to build 200 mosques (remember, Christians don’t go to mosques). To date, that is the only contribution by Saudi Arabia or any of the other wealth Arab countries toward the refugee problem. They certainly aren’t allowing any of them into their countries. Yesterday, the Germans put the brakes on that program, after this picture showed up.

Yes, those are ISIS flags confronting the German police officers. Now, Europe is thinking about their borders again.

Intelligence officials are estimating  that two people in every 100 refugees are Islamic jihadis. That’s 2%. The White House has said they are open to accepting  10,000 refugees. Since I predate Common Core, I know that 2% of 10,000 is 200. That’s 200 jihadis this administration wants to allow into our country, with full benefits I might add. Remember the two Islamist refugees who wreaked havoc at the Boston Marathon a little over two years ago. Imagine one hundred times that terror.

As to the issue of the Christian refugees, when asked about them, a State Department spokesperson said that they’d have to look into that some time next year. How many of those Christians will be killed before the State Department gets around to looking into it. But, by all means, let’s grant free entry into the country to any Muslims who might want to come.

With yesterday’s stroke of a pen and the ceremony today, the Stars and Bars has been removed from the South Carolina state grounds, with dignity, to be relegated to a museum. Some thought the flag was a symbol of hatred and others saw it as an icon for their heritage. Regardless, the battle flag is on its way to a display case and the editing pens of the left have been dipped in ink.

Already, the history is beginning to change. At Gettysburg National Military Park, nothing with the Confederate flag will be sold and, above Ft Sumter, where the first shots were fired to begin the Civil War, the Confederate flag has been struck. Memphis city leaders want to dig up the remains of General Nathan Bedford Forrest and his wife from the city’s Health Science Park and moved elsewhere. They are no longer welcome at the park. How much longer before history books completely remove events that happened between 1860 and 1865 altogether?

Admittedly, slavery was a terrible thing in America, as it was in a large number of countries. It still exists in some nations, but not in America, despite leftist rants. The United States actually went to war to end slavery. There is a debate on whether the war was about slavery or states’ rights, but, if you read the articles that established the Confederacy, it’s pretty obvious that the primary state right they were concerned about was slavery. Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican to win the Presidency, campaigned in 1860 to end slavery. The Democrat-run South balked and began preparations for secession.

On January 31, 1865, towards the end of the war, Congress approved  the 13th Amendment, prohibiting slavery in America and it was ratified on December 6, 1865, becoming part of the US Constitution. While all Republicans voted for the amendment, only 23% of the Democrats supported it. The 14th Amendment, giving citizenship for freed former slaves garnered 0% Democrat support; likewise the 15th, giving the right to vote.

The Democrats have a long history of being on  the wrong side  where slavery is concerned. They ran the South before, during and after the Civil War and through the time of the Civil Rights era. They started and dominated the Ku Klux Klan during that time. Through all of this, they scream that Republicans are the racists. Maybe, that’s why they are so desperate to change and pervert history. It’s a method of managing their deceit. And the sheep will blindly follow after.

As Americans debate whether the Confederate flag is evil or not, whether it should be displayed publicly or privately or if it should be even available for purchase, a much more important deadline nears. June 30 is the self-imposed deadline for an Iranian nuclear talks deal. Without a deal, Iran is free to produce nuclear material and manufacture a nuclear bomb. The White House has publicly stated their disapproval of extending the deadline, although the French and Iranians have both said there is a possibility. At present, Barack Obama is talking about how racist America is and how we need to do away with all guns and John Kerry is talking about phony climate change with the Chinese and Iran is sprinting toward the nuclear power finish line.

In April, the State Department announced the deal that wasn’t. Everything they said they had an agreement on, the Iranians came back and said they didn’t agree to any such thing. Apparently, those early talks could be likened to the Paris Peace talks between the US and North Vietnam where months were spent arguing over the shape of the table to be used during the talks. Since that time, it has been a constant stream from Tehran of demands and denials. They deny aspirations to acquire a nuclear bomb, even as the parliament chants “Death to America, Death to Israel”. They have repeatedly said the inspectors will not be allowed on military facilities. Of course, at least one of the nuclear sites is on a military facility. They demand sanctions must come off Iran before any inspections are allowed.

We are just under a week before the deadline. The highly vaunted deal is at best in shambles and, more likely, non-existent. Where are our negotiators (although I’ve seen no evidence they could negotiate their way out of a paper bag). The Iranians has given their list of non-starters which just happen to be our starters. Bottom line, Iran never meant to be dissuaded from their goal, a nuclear weapon and this administration is unable or unwilling to stop them. The negotiations were nothing but a delaying tactic to gain time to make their weapon.  Saudi Arabia is already trying to get a weapon of their own and Egypt can’t be far behind.  In short, this administration has taken the Middle East hot spot and turned it into an inferno. Perhaps, it’s time they stood up and paid attention.
