By way of a disclaimer, I didn’t watch the inaugural speech. I heard some excerpts on the few news channels I watched last night. However, I did read the full transcript of the speech. Reading the speech is bad enough, but having to watch Barack Obama’s arrogant mannerisms while delivering it are more than my digestive system can tolerate. That being said, this speech trampled every one of the Bill of Rights, save only for the quartering of soldiers.

In a speech that used the phrase, We, the People, no less than five times, he thumbed his nose at the freedom of speech of the 1st Amendment and the militias of the 2nd Amendment. His actions, paired with those who were misguided enough to vote for the National Defense Authorization Act continue to trample the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Amendments. The 9th Amendment, which has been misused by administrations to remove some “rights” while protecting others, will be further manipulated to extend more abortion rights and gay rights by this administration. As for the 10th Amendment, as long as Obama believes that massive federal government makes all the rules, the states will not take a back seat; they’ll miss the whole car! At best, they’ll just be sued, like Arizona.

This speech advocated for more of what We, the People have had for the last four years, only more aggressively. It calls for green energy, gay marriage, more government handouts and stricter gun control (if not confiscation), while failing to mention the 22 million unemployed, the $16.48 trillion national debt or the declining consumer confidence. It mentions the high cost of health care, which was supposed to go down with Obamacare. It dredges up bridges and infrastructure which the stimulus was supposed to counter.

This speech was nothing more than a compilation of excerpts from every speech that Obama has given over the last five years. It calls for higher taxes from the rich, defined as anyone who gets a check. It calls for the further avoidance of cuts to the entitlements, such as Social Security and Medicare, the driving forces behind out debt. It calls for the gutting of the military, at the same time China, Iran and North Africa are preparing for war. The speech calls for more spending, even as we borrow 46 cents for every dollar we spend.

In the real world, you can only borrow as long as creditors have the confidence they will be paid back. China is already hinting at a debt for land deal. That doesn’t seem to me to be anything in our best interests. The only way to avoid this is to stop spending and pass a balanced budget amendment. That’s not the direction this speech takes us.

Various United Nations programs, such as Agenda 21 (yes, it IS real), the Small Arms Treaty and the Laws of the Seas Treaty have been looked at favorably by this administration. In reality, it is nothing but a surrender of this nation’s sovereignty. that must be stopped! That’s not the direction this speech takes us.

Throughout this speech, the president implies the Founding Fathers would agree with his agenda were they alive today. Thomas Jefferson said,” The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions that I wish it always to be kept alive.” It doesn’t sound much like an agreement to me. I think Jefferson had the right idea.

Since it’s the middle of January, most of the people who get a paycheck have noticed that it seems to be a little lighter than it used to be. Those who listened to and believed Barack Obama when he was telling everyone that he was only raising taxes on the rich must have been amazed to find that Dear Leader actually considered everyone getting a paycheck to be among the rich. I haven’t really refrained from saying I told you so to those Liberal supporters who were surprised by the increased tax bite. Well, fear not. Just wait until one of the kids needs braces and you discover that the medical device tax the people who made those braces had to pay just got passed down to you!

Unfortunately, the “negotiations” that gave us the Obama tax increases left many things unresolved and will again raise their heads in a little over a month. Of course, I’m referring to the joint problems of sequestration and the looming debt ceiling. Either of these issues would be tough fights, but when combined, they could be disastrous for the country.

Sequestration was the penalty too huge to endure by Congress that was supposed to kick in on the first of this month. It was supposed to take $600 billion from both the military budget and entitlements. The Pentagon has been ordered to find funds, cutting programs, reducing equipment and manpower while forces around us strengthen. Strangely, the liberals have done nothing to locate, or even look for, their $600 billion for entitlements. I’m waiting for their clarion call to take it all out of the military! All of this could have been avoided had the Senate actually done its job, instead of piling viable solutions passed by the House on top of Harry Reid’s desk, never to see the light of day again!

The real battle will be over the debt ceiling. Currently, the United States’ national debt stands at $16.45 trillion, resulting in a debt of $52,203 from each citizen of our country. An infant born right this instant already owes that amount. We’ve already breached the debt limit $32 billion ago. So, what should we do about it?

Barack Obama says raise it. Of course, in 2006, then- Senator Obama said,”The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government can’t pay its own bills.”The major differences, of course, is that at the time the President was George W Bush and the debt then was a mere $8.2 trillion. In 2006, Obama chose the right vote was not to vote.

Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid voted against raising the limit in 2006, but now want it raised. Pelosi goes so far as to say Obama should raise it by Executive Order, using the 14th Amendment. I’m not a Constitutional scholar, but I have read it. I venture to say that’s more than many of our elected officials who are there serving us, after swearing to protect and defend the Constitution. After all, no one is questioning the debt (Section 4, 14th Amendment), but questioning the manner in which to pay that debt.

The majority of Americans are forced to live on a budget. They know how much money they have coming in (unless they are somehow surprised by a secret tax increase the Lame Stream Media neglected to tell them about). They know how much their bills are. Using simple math, they can subtract bills from income and know how much they have extra. If the income isn’t enough, they can ask for an increase, but that doesn’t work many times, so they may  have to cut something. There are many Americans who have had to cut something they liked due to their budget. Some people borrow money to make up the difference, but that only goes so long. Borrow too much and, sooner or later, their credit will be cut off.

It’s time that the government learns this lesson as well! The last four years, we have had deficits of more than $1.2 trillion annually, resulting in an increase in the national debt of over $6 trillion. This is irresponsible! The Senate is just a few month short of going four years without a budget. This is in violation of the law! Currently, every dollar the government spends, we only have $.54. We have to borrow the other $.46. This is dangerous!

We need to cut spending. We need serious spending cuts, not a decrease in the scheduled baseline increase, which is STILL an increase no matter what we’re told by the government bureaucrats! We need to cap that spending at levels we can afford. Then we need to balance the budget. This is what works in the households of the American people. Why shouldn’t we impose this on our government? After all, they work for US!

Let me leave you with this visual picture concerning the debt ceiling and the question of what to do. Imagine you live in a neighborhood with a bad sewer system. One day, it backs up and you come home to find your house full of sewage. Do you raise the ceiling? Do you get rid of the sewage? Well, which one should we do?

I awoke this morning to find the fiscal crisis had been averted. The House of Representatives, in a late night session, voted to approve the McConnell-Biden plan to raise taxes on the so-called “one percent”. Barack Obama is on his way back to Hawaii and Nancy Pelosi says it’s “a great way to start the year. The stock market is showing its approval by a sizable rally. All is great in the world, well, at least the country.

Well, not really. The deal that Congress approved for the nation is by no means a balanced plan. After the Senate voted for the plan, the CBO scored it as containing $41 revenue (read tax increase) to every $1 spending cut. Suspiciously, during the time the House is studying the plan, the CBO rescored it as a 10:1 ratio, but also notes that the plan would add almost $4,000,000,000 (4 Trillion dollars) to the national debt due to a decrease in revenues over a ten-year period. In other words, Congress passed a debt reduction bill that ADDS to the debt, evidently, with full knowledge the plan will prevent economic growth to the tune of $4 trillion over ten years.

Before anyone starts saying that Congress needed to do this to avoid a tax increase for everybody, let me point out that, with or without this plan, everyone’s taxes were going up anyway. While the plan dictates that those people making more than $400,000 (couples making $450,000) are evil people not paying their fair share, those making less than that faced a tax hike as well. The plan discontinues the payroll tax cut which will result in a 2% tax hike for all, no matter to what financial class they belong. By the way, Obamacare starts costing more money, in many cases almost doubling insurance premiums. simply, this means less money in everyone’s pockets.

Come to think of it, not everybody gets less money, because the administration, through Executive Order, gave Biden, Congress, and federal workers a raise. So, even as the taxpayers paycheck gets smaller, the people who supposedly work for us, get more. Currently, the House has voted not to give the raises, but unless the Senate takes it up today, it will die, as so many other bills will, on Thursday when the new Congress is sworn in. Of course, the bill also gives financial favors to NASCAR and to those poor Hollywood people. Doesn’t it make you feel warm and fuzzy that your tax hikes are doing such good?

My senator wrote earlier,”I supported this proposal because it protects 99% of Americans from increased taxes, it provides permanent certainty on the estate tax and Alternative Minimum Tax, it provides one year of protection for the reimbursement of doctors, it extends unemployment insurance for one year, and the net result of the deal provides over $600 billion that should be used to pay down our national debt.” Some of this may be true, however, none of this will ever be used to pay down the national debt. Even if it were, it would be but a drop in the bucket when the national debt is $16.4 trillion. When Obama cut short his vacation to make some photo opportunities and then turned the work over to Biden, he commented several times about how he had cut $1 trillion, I had to ask myself then why is his yearly deficit over $1.25 trillion dollars. Where were those cuts anyway? This bill is nothing more than a SPENDING and TAXING bill! The Lame Stream Media can spin it anyway they like it (nobody pays much attention to them anyway), but the only intent of this bill is to spend more.

This whole debacle should never have happened. Congress had almost a year and a half to come to some solution, but they waited until the last-minute to do anything. Really, the passing of this legislation does nothing but cause more turmoil in a few months. The sequestration cuts were delayed two months, which is about the same time until the debt ceiling issue comes up. When the new Congress starts work, they need to start working on these issues then, not in a couple of months. No good legislation ever comes about at the last-minute! The new Congress needs to get busy, actually do their jobs and cut spending before it’s too late!

Today is the 27th of December and just four days remain until the fiscal cliff, or would taxmageddon be a better term. The House of Representatives is out of session, although on 48 hour notice to return. The Senate is back on Capital Hill, although they haven’t done a thing for the last four years, as evidenced by the fact that they have failed to pass a budget in that period of time. That’s a violation of law, but they seem to believe that laws are for everyone else, but not them! But, fear not, as Barack Obama has come riding Air Force One in to save the day. Is he really?

Obama has no intention of any type of compromise. A true compromise would entail drastic spending cuts. His proposals contain none. His political philosophy is to spend as much as possible. If there is a problem, throw money at it and it will go away. It’s the viewpoint of the liberals from at least the time of Franklin D. Roosevelt, which ironically is the time the United States started running deficits in the billions of dollars. Obama is salivating over the 1st of January, because, from that day on, he gets the tax dollars of hard-working Americans to spend as he sees fit. His agenda is much more important than the health of the country. It’s in his best interests to allow the nation, and the economy, to go over the cliff.

The Senate is planning to do the same thing as the past two years, sit on their… political agenda; doing absolutely NOTHING unless it goes along in lockstep with their progressive belief. For the last two years, over thirty bills passed by the House of Representatives have sat on Harry Reid’s desk gathering dust, not seeing the light of day. Evidently, they subscribe to Dire Straits song, “Money For Nothing”, as they collect OUR pay and do nothing! Harry Reid then has the nerve to complain that the GOP won’t negotiate. Check your desk Harry. Several of those bills on your desk would go far toward the betterment of the economy and the nation. Personally, I’m tired of hearing your whining about negotiations.

The House of Representatives and the Speaker, John Boehner, are free from blame in this whole repugnant affair. The idea of delaying every difficult problem until a better time, or someone else’s watch, has caused great problems for a while. It has caused this great country to go from a AAA rating to a AA rating with an unfavorable outlook from several credit rating companies. While the House is the ONLY legislative branch doing anything, they are not the glowing example of conservative thought I would like, although they do have a few brief moments. Giving in to Obama’s talking points and starting negotiations by allowing tax increases was never one of them!

So, here we are; our nation is being wheeled into the hospital on a gurney, only to find out that all the doctors are arguing about whether or not to bring food into the auditorium as they settle down to watch a movie, perhaps “Thelma and Louise”. The House will give tax increases. but want some cuts, which historically never come. The Senate wants only tax increases, but don’t touch entitlements. Then, there’s Obama, who thinks he’s owed something for being him!

Truth is there’s no time to cobble an agreement together. Everytime a last-minute agreement has been passed, it’s been a bad plan for the country. Until those in Washington realize the problem America has isn’t a revenue problem, but a spending problem, all we’ll get are more bad plans. With a bit over four days remaining in which to act, I’ve come to think that no plan is better than a bad plan. Let’s go for the ride.

Hopefully, the first order of business in the House of Representatives on 3 January, 2013 will be a call to vote by secret ballot for the Speaker position, resulting in someone with a spine of steel and conviction of principles to replace John Boehner. When the debt ceiling issue comes up in January or February, the call for no increase without deep, meaningful spending cuts is loud and strong. By that time, the government will have spent all revenues garnered by the Obama Tax Increases of 2013. We need to cut actual spending, not reduce the baseline increases. Anyway, it’s going to be an interesting next few weeks.

It’s been three days since the senseless, evil events. The media is still fixated on Newtown, Connecticut, on the school where twenty 1st graders and six of the school staff were killed. The killer is dead, as is his first victim, his mother. The news media is still asking the most stupid of questions of the victims families, showing politicians whose only interest is in the photo opportunity the tragedy offers them or trying to correct the myriad of errors they had reported earlier.

Barack Obama has said that events such as this have happened too many times and he’s correct. Something must be done! There are many people offering solutions covering the gamet from gun bans to putting guns in the schools. The gun control advocates will tell anyone who listens that if there were no guns, there would be no violence. That same Friday, there was a man in China, a country that has taken guns from its citizens, stabbed to death twenty-two children. Perhaps the Chinese are screaming for the government to take away all knives there.

Gun control has been tried many times in many places. Washington, DC has a gun ban and it is a very dangerous place to walk the streets. Chicago’s gun laws are extremely strict and, as of the end of October 2012, they have seen 436 murders. The country of Australia had a gun buy-back prior to their gun ban. After they banned guns, their crime rate went up.Apparently, the old adage, “If all guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns” is true. This is an inherent problem with gun-free zones; by definition, it is a place someone with a gun can go and do whatever and nobody can stop them.

Why did the killer at Sandy Hook Elementary kill himself? He killed himself as soon as the first responder arrived. He killed himself when the first person with a weapon got there. The killer in the Portland, Oregon mall shot himself when he was comfronted by someone with a concealed carry permit and accompanying weapon. There are numerous reports of criminals being thwarted by armed, responsible citizens with a legally obtained pistol for self defense. They just don’t get the coverage from the Lame Stream Media,  because it doesn’t fit into their progressive agenda.

When this administration starts talking about gun control, what they actually are talking about is simply control. Their view is that they, the government, should be the responsible for everyone’s safety. I’m not sure I want to be lectured about gun ownership by those responsible for giving the Fast and Furious guns (automatic weapons) to the Mexican drug cartel.

Away from the gun control debate, there are those who claim it’s a mental health issue. These are the same progressives who closed mental health hospitals because it might stigmatize someone. Here in North Carolina, the state closed Dorthea Dix Hospital a few months ago and, now, are planning to turn it into a park. That’s nice, but do they have any plans for a new facility? Of course not. Some are talking about taking a harder look at mental health qualifications for gun ownership. The Veterans Administration is aiding in the gun control aspect by harshly questioning the mental health of any veteran. After all, hasn’t the Attorney General and the head of the Homeland Security declared the veterans (and the Tea Party of course)as terrorists.

The one solution the progressives fail to see, however, is the decrease in the morality in the society they’ve produced. They have generated a society without responsibility, where almost anything is permissible and nothing is “your fault”. The line between right and wrong isn’t blurred; it’s erased. They’ve tried to take religeon out of everything in our lives and replaced it with government. Perhaps an answer to the problem is a moral one. As Ronald Reagan said,”There are no easy answers, but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right.” Obviously, this is something we must do for ourselves.

The car is hurtling forward. We’ve already missed the exit right. The GPS screen is showing the road we are on coming to an end. We continue with the pedal to the metal. Up ahead, we see the barricade before the cliff. Should we barrel on through or slow down?

We are currently, three weeks from the “fiscal cliff” of which the Lame Stream Media is so fond. On 1 January, 2013, the Bush Tax Cuts end and everyone’s taxes go up. Barack Obama and John Boehner are said to be negotiating a solution. The Progressives want higher taxes (when don’t they) on the top 2% of the people. The Conservatives want spending cuts. The Democrats and the Republicans are somewhere in between. Will there be a solution to the problem at hand?

The Progressives demand higher taxes (they call it revenue to sound better) on those making $200,000 to $250,000 or higher. I use a spread for the starting point, because depending on whom is speaking, it varies. If the government taxed all those with a million or more at a rate of 100%, the resulting “revenue” would fund their spending for about two months, give or take. Of course, they could only do this once! At the current rate of spending, the government is on a pace to add $1.8 trillion to the deficit. The current deficit is $16.3 trillion dollars, which is already a crippling our economy. The administration isn’t asking for a 100% tax on millionaires and billionaires though. They demand an increase to 39.6% to those making $250,000 or more. A substantial portion of our small business owners fall into that category. When January arrives, those owners will be faced with the decision to keep the people they have working or pay those higher taxes. They say the only sure thing is death and taxes, so those owners only have one choice.

When New York state raised the state tax rates, many companies moved to states more “tax friendly”. A year ago, Great Britain raised its tax rate to 50%. At the time, the country had 16,000 millionaires. At the end of the year, the nation had 6,000. The rest moved out of Great Britain. The country is now considering lowering the rate to 45%. Will the millionaires flock back? The French earlier this year, raised their tax rate to 75% on the rich. The populations in Belgium and Switzerland have grown, but I doubt that the “revenue” to the French treasury has. In the election this past November, the voters of California chose to, retroactively, raise taxes on the rich in their state. Everyone knows that California has a massive debt problem and this was sold as the way to help make that up. Companies have been leaving California for several years already because of the high tax rates. Do you think that will stop or accelerate?

The Obama administration ha stated their policies are to raise taxes, initiate another stimulus of $50 Billion and eliminate the debt ceiling. This translates to Tax, Spend and Spend! I’m not sure that this would work if the economy was growing at a rate of five to six per cent. Currently, I believe the rate of growth for the country is a sickly 1.2%. The Obama plan would reduce that rate and the resulting gross domestic product.

The moment of truth is upon us. The car speeds forth! The barricade is in sight. Obama’s plan is to speed through the barricade and over the cliff. There is actually only one idea that will result in the car going over the cliff. Unfortunately, no one is speaking of that idea, even though the House of Representatives was elected to hold that line. The answer to the problem is the stop the spending. The government has a SPENDING PROBLEM, not a revenue problem. We certainly don’t need to tax the 2% to punish for success.

The election is now over. The people have spoken. The plurality has dictated that the status quo should continue for at least the next two years. The divisiveness goes on, yet the media screams of a mandate. Barack Obama has been re-elected President of the United States. The House is under Republican control and the Senate remains under Democratic control. Now, however, is the time to take stock of the condition of the country.

Two days after the election, the stock market has reacted in a downward motion. Of course, the stock market can’t be used as a good indicator; few experts have been able to explain the ups and downs of the last couple of years. They seem to get excited with the prospect of quantitative easing (the printing of money, thus devaluing the dollar) then decrying the very effects of that easing. I think there’s some manipulating of the stock market by the Federal Reserve, but that’s just my opinion.

More and more companies are announcing layoffs now, with more on the way. Some of this is due to the defense cuts from sequestration. Others are in response to the realization that Obamacare is here to stay, at least for a couple of years. Either way, the business community is preparing for a very hostile environment. The result, of course, will be fewer jobs and more people unemployed. But fear not, Obama’s solution is to hire more teachers to prepare more people for employment, which isn’t there. Consumer confidence in October climbed, but, with Thanksgiving and Christmas (yes, I said it) coming up in the next month and a half, consumers will get over their confidence quick enough. We have yet to hear of the layoffs that will hit after the first of the year, without warning, sanctioned by the Re-elct Obama forces. On the bright side, think of all those single young females that have their free birth control. The down side is they won’t be able to find a job.

The fiscal cliff is just around the corner. Taxmageddon, which is going to take about $3800 from the paychecks of the middle class, will remove more job opportunities. The resulting tax increases on small companies will be too heavy for their survival. Surely, the House, Senate and the President will solve the problem between now and 1 January, 2013. Oh, wait; Obama’s going on his Asia Celebratory Tour and we have those holidays coming up. I doubt that Christmas will be too tough for those in Washington DC. After all, they have a job!

Obamacare, the President’s signature piece of legislation, also takes a deeper bite of the economy. Everyone will be required to have insurance, even those 26 year olds who no longer will be qualified under their parents insurance plans. Those that have good insurance plans, the so-called Cadillac plans, will find that they not only pay the premiums, but also a tax on the value of the plan to the IRS. Those with no insurance, face fines paid to the IRS. Those on Medicare and Medicaid will be hard hit once their doctor decides he will no longer accept those forms of insurance due to the low rates of reimbursement. That $716 million that the administration told seniors they weren’t removing from Medicare, even though they did, won’t be they to pay the doctors. Please don’t forget the role of AARP in this mess; they were paid $1 billion to back Obamacare, misleading the very seniors that expected the group to advocate for them!

We don’t have to look very far to see the results of the path down which we are heading next year. We don’t really have to look at Greece or Spain to see what is ahead of us. All we need do is look to our west to California. It is a state under very difficult economic troubles. Cities there are declaring bankruptcy. Companies are forced to pay one of the most restrictive tax structures in the country. many of the wealthiest in the state reap great benefits from the state, although they claim citizenship and pay taxes in a different state with a much lower tax rate. This is the state which this past Tuesday voted to increase taxes on the rich retroactively. They could not have destroyed the economy more effectively or more quickly if they had tried. Business owners, those “rich” people singled out for taxation, will beat a path out of the state at an extreme rate, thus draining already depleted coffers.

The future will be tough to be sure. Elections DO have consequences! The upcoming recession, if not a depression, will give many of those who voted for this path cause to question. Is big government and a complete abandonment of morality, indeed, better? What was wrong with limited government as laid out by the United States Constitution, where We the People had the power and the government worked for us? Our task is to show those who question Obama’s path the way to get back on the path to prosperity!

Forty-four years ago, in 1968, I had just turned 18 years old, graduated high school, gone through US Marine boot camp. I had arrived in Vietnam a week or two earlier. I had enlisted in the Marine Corps knowing that I would be going there.

Back home, 1968 was a turbulent time. Demonstrations were everywhere. It was an election year. Lyndon Johnson had decided not to seek re-election, so the race for President was between Richard Nixon and Hubert Humphrey, with the election day being 5 November, just a few weeks ahead. The outcome of this election could be rather important to me, here in a combat zone.

There was only one problem. At 18, I was old enough to fight for my country, but not old enough to vote. It seemed a little odd to me, but that was the way it was. Three years later, the voting age was lowered from 21 to 18. I felt cheated, as the next election, in 1972, I would have been old enough to vote anyway.

I exercised my right to vote in the Presidential election of 1972. Since then, I have not missed an opportuntiy to vote my opinion, or displeasure. I have taken seriously this great honor of determining the best person for each office and casting a vote for that person.

There has rarely been a more critical time to exercise the right to vote. In a time when our elected officials completely disregard the wishes of the majority of its constituents, virtually thumbing their noses at the people, every vote counts. Did you want the government to control 1/6 of our economy, mandating how and where you spend your money. Do you want to add a 20-25% Value-added Tax to everything you purchase, on top of the existing income tax system? Do you want Cap and Trade to further cripple small business and the economy? These are all important questions facing The United States of America today. Our future depends on the answer. Are we destined to be just another member of the European Union, separated by the Atlantic Ocean? Do we want to surrender our rights to the United Nations?

Thomas Jefferson said,” To preserve our independence… we must make our election between economy and liberty or profusion and servitude.” This statement is just as true today as when he said it in 1816.  Here in North Carolina, early voting begins this Thursday, 18 October.  Exercise your right as a citizen to vote. The destiny of the United States of America relies upon it! This country can’t stand another four years like the last four!

During the debate over the benefits of Obamacare, one of the points the Democrat proponents made was the need for the sharing of medical information. They thought it absolutely necessary that all information regarding a patient’s health care be available among health providers. They argued the point that should a person be brought into the hospital unconscious, the hospital staff could go into a computer, find their information regarding health concerns and allergies, and give the patient the proper medical treatment for any emergency. On the face of things, this sounds good, but that puts huge amounts of information out there in the ether.

Well, Obamacare passed and Big Brother is making his presence known. Here comes the Epic computer system. This is the computer system whereby every healthcare provider can get access to everyone’s medical information. It is currently being installed in some hospitals around the country. A few things, however, trouble me about the system.

First, the system is quite expensive. The cost to the hospital is $100 million, but, to ease the expense, the government will refund half of that amount at completion, when the system is up and running. In case you forgot, the government doesn’t have any money; that’s OUR money they are so freely spending. Also, Obamacare was passed with the explanation that it would reduce the cost of healthcare to everyone. A $50 million expense to a hospital is going to cost someone, and I’ll guarantee that that expense will be paid by those patients of the hospital. So much for affordability.

Aside from the cost of the addition of the system to every American, one other thing concerns me. Who is going to have access to the information? Obviously, healthcare professionals will have the information available to them. Insurance companies more than likely will have the information also. Of course, the government will have the data, although it’s unclear to me which departments of the government will have access ( I’m sure it will be more departments than need the information). This is a major concern!

It’s not a rarity to hear of companies’ computers being hacked. Bank of America and Wells Fargo recently had problems. Stores online sites have been attacked and customer information lost. Even hospitals have fallen prey to attackers, revealing patient’s names, addresses and social security numbers for use by unscrupulous people. Government computers, used by the Pentagon, NSA, FBI and a plethora of other alphabet agencies have reported being hacked. You would think those agencies, where national security is involved, would have the greatest of security and firewalls available. Still they have been victimized. How safe would our healthcare information be when we can’t even protect our national security interests? How secure do you feel? Regardless, Epic is here. It’s already installed in one of the hospitals in the city where I live. It’s coming to a hospital near you!

The President of the United States stood at the podium to speak. The audience was the General Assembly of the United Nations. All he had to do was give a speech, then he could go back to pandering to his “base”, those Americans who believe that government can do everything in life better than they can do for themselves.

The speech, for the most part, was just another speech to his pep rally Lame Stream Media and the Obama zombies. Of course, he had gone before a couple of newspeople from Univision who actually dared ask tough questions, embarrassing the President. On a personal aside, perhaps we should send our craven, incompetent “journalists” to Mexico for a refresher course on how to do their job, but, I digress.

Then it happened. Obama is again blaming the attacks on our embassies and consulates on some video that no one has seen. The fact that the Libyans have said that it was a planned, coordinated attack means nothing. The fact that the State Department had three days advance warning means nothing. The fact that it was September 11 means nothing. The deaths of our Ambassador and three others were, as Obama tells Steve Croft in an interview, just “bumps in the road”. Then, Obama makes the comment,”The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet, Mohammad.” This caught my attention for two reasons.

First, it was a bow to Islam, as no other religion was brought up before the assembly. Does he mean to put Islam before any other religion. Let’s face it, within a few miles of the United Nations building, there is a broadway play, “The Book of Mormon”, which brought Hillary Clinton to her feet in a standing ovation, which would offend Mormons. I’m sure Christians everywhere are offended by the return of an “art presentation” showing a crucifix in a jar of urine. Strangely, I hear no apologies to Mormons or Christians. Yet, I hear that both the Libyan leader and the Egyptian President want global laws making it a crime to insult Islam or Mohammad. Well, the UN has never really been a big fan of freedom of speech. Well, the UN has never been a big fan of anything in our Constitution.

Secondly, although claiming to be a Christian, his actions support Islam much more. This is just a step by the Obama Administration to further support the Muslim Brotherhood. Obama has done nothing to curb Iran’s quest for the nuclear bomb. Iran supports the Muslim Brotherhood. The Secretary of State has an aide on her staff, Huma Abedin, whose father is high in the Muslim Brotherhood and her mother is a member of the female version of the group. Obama was very vocal in the fall of the government of Egypt and was happy about the Muslim Brotherhood victory in the elections. Obama “led from behind” in the turmoil in Libya, resulting in a power vacuum. However, over the last seven months, Obama has given not much more than lip service to the violence, the civil war, going on in Syria. Strangely enough, Syria’s major supporter is Iran. Of course, the Arab Spring started with the students in Iran revolting after the massive fraud in their election, in which Obama’s voice was completely absent!

The goal of the Muslim Brotherhood is world domination for Islam. This will begin with the undermining of the state of Israel, claiming Jerusalem as their capital, followed by the destruction of the United States from within. This will begin soon in Israel and is already well under way here in America, under Obama’s “leadership”. Obama’s stance on this is evident, if not spoken!
